Rankings and Awards

Recognition from numerous entities shows that Spelman continues to be on the ascent as an academic institution focused on the success of its students. As the highest ranked institution from which Black women science and engineering doctorate recipients earn bachelor's degrees, according to the National Science Foundation, Spelman is a strong training ground for women who go on to careers in which they lead and excel.

2022: Spelman College recognized as the #1 HBCU in Georgia by University HQ

2022: Spelman College recognized as an inaugural ALL IN Most Engaged Campus for College Student Voting by the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge

2022: The Spelman College Theatre and Performance Department received a Suzi Bass Award for Best Social Justice Play with the production of "The New Black Fest's Hands Up."
